Intoeing
Intoeing, or being what is called “Pigeon toed” is in most cases a normal variant of developmental posture in young children.
Causes:
From hips
Intoeing can be caused by an inward twist of the femur (thigh bone) This points the knees and feet inwards.
These torsions are often present in normally developing children and for the majority will resolve without treatment. However, if you are worried about your child’s intoeing, it is worth a visit to your paediatrician, paediatric physiotherapist or orthopedic surgeon for an assessment.
